Frenectomy - Tongue and Lip tie
Children:
Given Dr. Ghormley’s physical medicine background, she finds working with children on musculoskeletal and nervous system development starts with postural development. She utilizes laser frenectomy as one of several tools to help restore and maintain balance in a child’s growing body. Her focus is on upper airway support to increase oxygen to the tissue which has been shown to help w/systemic inflammation in the body. Frenectomy is also used in support for speech impairments and sleep disorders. Dr. Ghormley takes a well rounded approach using myofascial release, manipulations (naturopathic adjustments) and her
treatment plans includes total health (GI health, structural & nervous system development).
Adult:
We specialize in support of structural changes w/regards to airway dysfunction such as OSA and postural imbalance. As degeneration of soft tissue occurs over time especially with our lingual and labial frenulum and as sedentation lifestyles become apparent, we are seeing more individuals w/soft tissue tightening. We used to associate sleep apnea overweight adults but we are finding that is not the case anymore. Other changes that are seen that can be helped by frenectomy are teeth grinding, TMJ issues, and teeth marks on tongue. People are not utilizing their upper airway as efficiently as they were when they were younger. When you aren’t working out, moving enough, you are creating the degeneration process which can lead to OSA.
Dr. Ghormley and her team utilizes laser frenectomy to restore balance in tissues to give adults tools to overcome issues such as neck, upper body pain along w/disruptive sleep. Getting better posture, better sleep = better lifestyle balance. Utilize naturopathic adjustments to move the structures forward to allow for appreciative & more functional airway optimization. We find that soft tissue manipulation like myofascial release along w/adjustments & laser frenectomy has helped significantly in letting people gain more mobility in their upper MSK system.
Pelvic Floor Therapy and Rehabilitation
Designed to achieve internal and external muscle balance and stability throughout the pelvic region. Pelvic Floor Therapy is helpful for men, women, and non-binary individuals. Common treatable conditions include erectile dysfunction, postpartum care, painful intercourse, low back pain, urinary incontinence, hemorrhoids, vaginal prolapse, vaginismus, interstitial cystitis, rectocele / cystocele, post-surgical rehabilitation, injuries / structural abnormalities, and many more.
Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation
Treating all ages from infancy to geriatrics in musculoskeletal development and chronic degeneration or pain management. We also treat Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVA). Some of the treatments we use involve rehabilitation of the muscles and joints, exercise therapy, spinal adjustments, injections such as trigger point, prolo and PRP therapy, sacral occipital technique and muscle energy stretching.
Head and Neck Rehabilitation
Maxillofacial therapy is a technique that works with the face especially the eyes, ears, nose (sinus cavity) and mouth. Gentle treatment is used to ameliorate major trauma and structural anomalies of the face.
Neurological Deficits and Rehabilitation
Treating from infancy up to baby booming generation - treatments are designed to enhance brain function through brain and physical exercises.
Craniosacral Therapy
We use this modality on most of our patients to help them with recovery. This modality is recognized as a physiological relationship to several systems but specifically to the central nervous system, autonomic system, neuro-musculoskeletal system, and endocrine system. This is one of the most gentle treatments and is highly recommended for use on infants and older adults where more aggressive treatments would be contraindicated.
Injection Therapy
Prolotherapy, Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) and Trigger Point Therapy are powerful treatment modalities capable of stimulating the body’s inherent healing ability. Prolotherapy and PRP (coming soon) initiates a controlled inflammatory response to promote soft tissue regeneration. Soft tissue renewal supports tendons and ligaments to alleviate pain and joint instability. Trigger Point Therapy reduces muscle tension to balance neuromuscular communication and achieve gentle, rapid relief of pain.
Prolotherapy, PRP and Trigger Point Therapy address the cause of many musculoskeletal ailments. These modalities have fewer side-effects than conventional pain medications or steroid injections. They are also a less invasive treatment alternative to surgery.
Men's Sexual Health
Men have unique health concerns that are not often addressed. We provide reproductive and sexual health services, erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation services, and many more.
